Question by slick: It’s ovbious were losing the battle on cancer etc. so why not try unproved alternative preventions?
Best answer:
Answer by spiritwise333
I agree. We should be allowed to investigate alternative treatments. And much more research money needs to be allocated to discovering natural cures. However, many people believe that there are already alternative cures for most cancers available but that they have been ruthlessly suppressed by the FDA. Many people also believe the FDA is just a puppet of the pharmaceutical companies. Cancer treatment is a multi-billion dollar industry.
There is little or no money to be made from alternative medicines because most are plant based or made from simple chemical compounds that cannot be patented. Without a patent the drug companies cannot make the compound exclusively and and then they cannot charge outrageous prices for their products. There would be no reason for a drug company to spend a lot of money on developing a herbal cancer treatment product for instance, when we can grow the herbs in our back yard.
Medical doctors who practise alternative medicine are severely harassed by the AMA, (whom some believe to be enforcers for the drug companies). A staggering number of alternative MDs have had their licenses revoked by their state and provincial medical boards because they threatened the status quo.

Question by Exhilarating, isn’t it?: CHRISTIANS: Is choosing not to take cancer treatment b/c Im ready to die considered a sin (suicide)?
The breakdown is this:
I was abused my entire life. I have developed depression, anxiety, and severe OCD due to some things Ive experienced. Someone I knew a very long time snapped and attempted to kill her three kids, actually killing her three year old. Since then I began having harm OCD thoughts. UNWANTED thoughts/urges to hurt/kill people. I’ll repeat that… COMPLETELY UNWANTED. I dont want to hurt anybody but it is absolute mental torment living with these thoughts and urges. I have tried different medications to no avail, I have tried therapy and it did nothing… I even resorted to checking myself into a mental hospital voluntarily and that didnt help. I used to be an incredibly strong person, mentally and physically. Now I cant work… I can hardly function in daily life because of these thoughts and the depression. Im in debt. And I have a 5 year old that I am terrified of being around simply because i want her to be safe. I cant trust anybody… No one will be with a trainwreck like me.
Sorry for the long intro but I was diagnosed with severe cervical dysplasia. A year ago my pap smear was completely clear. My doctor says at the rate the cells are multiplying it will most definitely turn into cervical cancer. I feel like i cant do this anymore. I cant even offer my daughter a good life, Im miserable and making everyone around me miserable. I cant stand the thought of never seeing my child again but I cant stand the fears of hurting somebody and ending up in prison either.
Do you think its a sin to not seek treatment and allow myself to die? Its not suicide. I dont want to go to hell… that scares me too. I am in misery. Your opinions please.
PS… please dont refer me to a suicide prevention hotline. Been there, done that. Its appreciated, but please just answer the question.Thanks. And also, I do go to a spirit-filled church. I have accepted Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.

Question by ♥ShinichiRanConan♥: What are the symptoms of brain cancer?
Add. details: I’m always exposed to too much radiation. I’m always in front of the computer. That’s for hours. I don’t even take time for a break. I no longer watch tv but that was just recently. But before when I watch, it’s also for hours, maybe 4-5 hours straight, again, without letting my eyes rest even for a minute. After I finished watching, my head pounds so hard. It aches, not so much but it’s like a hammer is being pounded on my head. I’m not sure if it’s anything related to brain cancer/tumor. Maybe cancer in the eyes (is there such a thing?). Is there a possibility that I will be blind or worse cancer?? I’m not really having headaches now, just rarely. I’m just curious. I need your advice so I would know if I have to lessen my time in being exposed to radiation. Prevention is better than cure, right?
I wear eyeglasses. Lenses?? Last time I have my eyeglasses made, the other 500 plus, the other, IDK. They’re not the same though. Doctor said more chances to have eye cataract. Last eye check: Dec 2007. First time I had glasses 9 years old. First time my vision became blurry, 8 years old. So, whaccha think?
I forgor to add. I’m 17 years old. Thanks.

Question by pdooma: Should the government be funding porn to prevent prostate cancer?
Studies show that ejaculation 3x a week help reduce prostate cancer by 15%. In fact, according to Australian studies, the more a man ejaculates between age 20 and 50, the lower his risk for prostate cancer will be.
Since we cannot assume every guy out there has a wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend willing to have sex 3x a week, nor can we assume that every guy has the funds to pay for his own porn in order to masturbate (we don’t want the poor to suffer needlessly), I propose that government should provide free or low cost porn in the quest to prevent prostate cancer. Heck, they pay for everything else.
Your thoughts?

I’m sure this will be reported, but since I used all medical terms, shouldn’t we take this as a serious discussion of cancer and not just of smutty sex?
